Lithuania’s Residence Permit
- You get your first Temporary Residence Card for one year which can be renewed for two years subsequently
- You need to run or buy a business in Lithuania where you hold 1/3rd of the company shares and you employ a minimum of 3 Lithuanian citizens. Your share capital needs to be at least 14,000 Euros.
- Your documents for processing can be either submitted to the nearest Lithuanian Embassy or can be submitted in person at the migration department in Lithuania. A prior appointment needs to be taken
- There might be an interview during document submission about your business plans and intentions in Lithuania. To aid you in answering these questions, we provide you with a questionnaire
- After having applied for your TRP (Temporary Residence Permit), the processing time is four months to obtain the same.
- If you would like to obtain your TRP faster, then you can pay an extra fee to the Migration Department. The migration department will look into your application and complete the process in 2 months’ time.
- After receiving your TRP, you will have two months to arrive in Lithuania.
- In case your application hasn’t gone through for whatever reason, then you will get a complete refund.
- You are allowed to bring your dependent family to Lithuania, after 2 years of you receiving the TRP. In case you want them with you from the beginning in Lithuania, then you have to add them as your partners in the company
- After 5 years of having your TRP, you are eligible to apply for Permanent Residence Permit.
- After 10 years of having your Permanent Residence Permit, you are eligible for your US Citizenship
- A person with Lithuania’s TRP, is eligible to travel visa-free across all European Schengen Area and other countries
- A person with Lithuania’s TRP, has the right to open his business and conduct business in any part of the European Union
